To the residents of Parks and Recreation District #3,

As many of you heard in the Governor’s issued a Stay at Home Order effective March 23, 2020 at 5pm. We wanted to update our residents on how this effects our parks. The most recent changes are highlighted in red.

Our Gyms and Wellness Centers:

The Fitness & Aquatics Center, RD3 Fitness, as well as the Wellness Center will be closed from March 17th until April 13th. The Governor will review these mandatory shut downs seven days prior to the end date and will keep us informed as to the duration of the shutdown. Staff will remain onsite at the Fitness Center Monday – Thursday 8:30am – 4:00pm to answer questions by phone only at (225) 664-8099. The Fitness & Aquatics Center, RD3 Fitness, and The Wellness Center will be closed to all foot traffic.

Our Parks:

The grounds at L.M. Lockhart Park, North Park, The Pines at North Park, and South Park will continue to be open, however all bathrooms, playgrounds, as well as the buildings and facilities will be closed to the public. The park hours have changed to sunrise and sunset each day.

We also ask that our residents be mindful that our parks are public facilities, and remain diligent with hand hygiene. The main office will be staffed Monday – Thursday 8:30am – 4:00pm. Before & After School Care:

Our childcare programs are postponed for the time being. Before & After School Care will remain closed until April 13, 2020, at which time we will reevaluate the situation and let our patrons know our next decision. Staff will remain on site Monday – Thursday 8:30am – 4:00pm. The office will be closed to foot traffic so please call (225) 665-1533 or email Monica at with questions.

Rentals:

Building rentals having more than 50 guests from now through April 13th, 2020 will be rescheduled to the next available date.

All pavilion reservations have been cancelled through April 13, 2020.

Sports Programs:

Spring Soccer league will be postponed until April 13, 2020. This means that all games and practices are cancelled for the time being, and will be rescheduled after April 13th.

Spring Ball, which includes: T-Ball, Coaches Pitch, Baseball and Softball will all continue to register until registration deadline of April 13, 2020. Since our office is closed to foot traffic, our patrons must use online registration at PardsLA.com. Please call John Arbour at (225) 665-5405 or email him at with questions.

The Pines at North Park

The grounds at the Pines at North Park will remain open to the public during their regular hours. However, certain restrictions do apply per Governor’s orders. All members and guests are single riders in golf carts, meaning that only one person per cart is allowed. Members and guests must remain 6 feet from each other. The club house will remain open during regular hours for payments only. For more information please call (225) 523-4947.
